Dry Season for Landscaping

If you have spent any time driving along Six Mile Cypress recently, you may have noticed the color of the grass is a lovely shade of yellow-brown. Despite our best efforts, our community is not immune to the effects of the dry weather. March and April are typically the most challenging months for grass given the warm temperatures and lack of rain. While the irrigation system is running, the City of Fort Myers and the water management district impose restrictions on the frequency and how long we can irrigate.
Our landscaper, Mainscape, has prepared a couple of documents to provide some more detailed information on what to expect this time of year.
As we begin fertilization and as we move into rainy season, we should begin to see a dramatic improvement in the color and health the of grass. If you see some distressed areas, you can help by spraying some water on the area. You should also report it to the landscaper so they can double check the position of the sprinkler heads and look for other potential causes.
As always, if you suspect that there is an issue with the irrigation system or if you have a problem with the landscaping please report the issue to Mainscape so that it can be investigated. You can do so through our website or by emailing the landscaper directly so a work order can be created.
Thank you,
